Yes to Veggies: One foodie’s culinary journey…vegetarian style!

By Angella, The Carrot Alchemist

For any of us lucky enough to live in or around San Francisco, amazing food is easy to come by. This city is a mecca for herbivores and carnivores alike. My veggie journey happens to be 20+ years long! What can I say…so many amazing veggies, so little time.

My latest restaurant journey proved to be one of the greatest. No kidding. I met up with a couple of Yes To team members and we jaunted away to Farm:Table. What is Farm:Table? You guessed it. Food straight from the farm, directly to your table. A rotating menu each day, cute and quaint, a couple of outdoor tables, super low-key. Everything made to order!

Luckily for me, veggie items were prominent on the menu. Fresh pea soup and summer salad were amazing. What else was circulating around that table? Home-made wheat bread and fresh-baked cookies.

What’s fab: For those of you counting your pennies, my soup + salad+ non-alcoholic drink was under $20! (Around $17 and change to be exact)

My highest recommendation for an easy, healthy, veggie-style lunch.

Because what we put on our bodies is as important is what goes in our bodies.

  1. Thank you for this post! The Yes to Carrots twitter had been posting meat-based recipes which did not seem to agree with YTC's supposed go-green, animal-friendly attitude. It is nice to see you posting about the health benefits of a veg lifestyle, as it is not only better for our bodies but also for our environment and the world around us!
